I want to see the San Francisco 49ers vs. New England Patriots in the Super Bowl because these are my two favorite NFL teams, which would make this matchup incredibly special for me. The 49ers and Patriots have a long history against each other, with San Francisco currently leading their regular-season series, so seeing them finally meet in the Super Bowl would add another huge chapter to their history.
The matchup would also be interesting because both teams have had periods where they were among the NFL’s most successful franchises. The 49ers dominated much of the 1980s and 1990s, while the Patriots became one of the defining teams of the 2000s and 2010s.
I would honestly have no idea who to root for because I love both teams. If the Patriots won, I would be happy, and if the 49ers won, I would be happy too. I wouldn’t even really care who won because I would get to watch one of my two favorite teams win the Super Bowl, and that would make this one of the most exciting possible matchups for me.
I want to see the Minnesota Vikings vs. Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl because it would be a matchup we have never seen before on the biggest stage. The Vikings and Broncos have actually played each other 16 times in the regular season, and their all-time series is completely even at 8–8, which makes the idea of finally seeing them meet in a Super Bowl even more interesting.
There would also be a lot at stake for both franchises. The Vikings have made four Super Bowl appearances but have never won one, so a Super Bowl against Denver could give Minnesota a chance to finally get that first championship. Meanwhile, the Broncos have already won three Super Bowls and have a long history of playing on the biggest stage, so they would be trying to add another championship to their franchise history.
I also think the matchup would be fun because the teams come from opposite conferences, meaning they normally don't play each other very often. Their most recent meeting was in 2023, when Denver beat Minnesota 21–20, so a Super Bowl rematch years later would be a completely different situation with much bigger consequences. For me, the biggest reason I want this matchup is that it would feel fresh and unpredictable. Instead of seeing two teams that have already met in multiple Super Bowls, I would get to watch the Vikings and Broncos battle for a championship for the first time ever.
Honestly, a Buccaneers vs. Patriots Super Bowl would be exciting because it would bring together two teams with very different histories and fan bases. The Patriots would be playing for another Lombardi Trophy and the chance to add to one of the NFL’s most successful legacies, while the Buccaneers would be trying to capture another championship and prove they belong among the top teams in the NFL.
It would also be interesting because the Patriots represent New England, giving the game a huge regional following, while Tampa Bay would bring a completely different style and fan base from Florida. The matchup would create plenty of storylines, from which defense could make the biggest plays to which quarterback could handle the pressure of the Super Bowl. Most importantly, seeing the Patriots and Buccaneers meet on the biggest stage would be a rare matchup that fans would remember for years.
I honestly don’t think I’m going to be the only person in the world to want to see this matchup happen, because these two teams have never yet played each other in the final showdown in the Super Bowl. Also, recently on October 12, 2026, the Buffalo Bills and the Rams played each other, and it was an overtime thriller where the Bills came out on top, and it honestly felt like the Super Bowl was going on that night.
Plus, building on their rematch on the ultimate stage would put Josh Allen’s dual-threat playmaking and dominant rushing attack, led by James Cook, against Sean McVay's high-powered offensive scheme and Stafford's veteran poise. With both teams capable of turning every possession into high-octane theater and trading clutch fourth-quarter blows, it would deliver the exact kind of high-drama, star-studded shootout fans dream of seeing for the Super Bowl like it should have been last season. Overall, I honestly feel like this could be closest to the real Super Bowl matchup this season.
A Super Bowl matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs would represent the ultimate cinematic clash of NFL cultures, pairing the league’s modern, dynastic empire against its most beloved and historically starved underdog story. Witnessing Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid orchestrate their clinical, championship-tested offense on the grandest possible stage is always a masterclass in football excellence, but facing Detroit elevates the stakes because the Lions bring a fierce, blue-collar intensity that completely contrasts with the Chiefs’ polished poise.
This gridiron battle would feature an absolute fireworks show between two elite, high-scoring offenses where Jared Goff and a potent Detroit aerial attack would force Kansas City into a breathless, point-for-point track meet. The narrative weight of this game would be staggering since the Lions are one of the oldest franchises in the NFL and have famously never even appeared in a Super Bowl, making their journey to the title game a monumental milestone that would have the entire sports world emotionally invested in their triumph.
Adding a thick layer of genuine animosity and drama to the affair, these teams shared a heated postgame brawl in early 2026 after a physical battle, meaning a championship rematch would be fueled by real bad blood, fierce personal rivalries, and an undeniable desire for absolute supremacy. Ultimately, you would want to watch this specific game because it perfectly balances the majestic pursuit of an ongoing Kansas City dynasty with the raw, emotional, and historic opportunity for Detroit to finally shatter decades of heartbreak and capture their first Lombardi Trophy in front of a captivated global audience.
One Super Bowl matchup I really do not want to see again is the San Francisco 49ers versus the Kansas City Chiefs. There is no denying that their first Super Bowl meeting was exciting and felt like a fresh matchup, but seeing these two teams come back together for another Super Bowl would feel repetitive. It seems like we keep getting the 49ers and Chiefs every few years, almost like this matchup shows up every three years, and at this point, it is starting to feel old and predictable.
The Super Bowl is supposed to be the biggest game of the NFL season, and I would rather see two teams that have not recently faced each other on that stage. There are plenty of other teams with talented rosters and fan bases that deserve the opportunity to play for a championship, so having the same two teams meet again would take away some of the excitement and surprise. Even if the game ended up being competitive, I would personally rather see a new rivalry develop instead of going back to a matchup we have already watched multiple times. Sometimes a matchup can be great and still be something you have simply seen enough of, and for me, 49ers vs. Chiefs has reached that point.
Another Super Bowl matchup I would not want to see is the Miami Dolphins versus the New Orleans Saints. Honestly, I have a hard time even imagining this matchup happening anytime soon, and I would be surprised if we saw it within the next 10 years. While both teams have passionate fan bases and plenty of NFL history, a Dolphins-Saints Super Bowl just does not feel like the kind of matchup that would immediately get people excited.
Compared with some of the other possible Super Bowl combinations, this one feels random and would probably lack the big-game storyline that makes a Super Bowl especially memorable. It would also be disappointing to spend an entire NFL season waiting for the biggest game of the year only to end up with two teams that many fans probably were not expecting to see there. I would much rather see two teams with a strong rivalry, a recent history of big games, or a fan base that has been waiting a long time for a championship opportunity. A Dolphins-Saints Super Bowl could certainly happen someday, but if I had to choose the matchups I want to see, this would be near the bottom of my list because, honestly, it just sounds boring.
A Carolina Panthers versus Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl is another matchup I would really not want to see, and honestly, I could see it turning into a blowout. If these two teams somehow made it all the way to the Super Bowl, I would be worried that we would get a game where one team takes control early and the other never really has a chance to catch up.
Of course, anything can happen in the NFL, and both teams could prove everyone wrong, but on paper, this matchup would not exactly scream “classic Super Bowl.” Part of what makes the Super Bowl so exciting is having two teams that feel like they belong on the biggest stage, with major storylines, intense rivalries, star players, or a long history between them. Panthers-Jaguars would not have that same feeling for me.
It would also be a matchup between two teams that have not exactly been regular Super Bowl contenders throughout their histories, so some fans might have a hard time getting as excited about it compared with matchups involving teams that have been fighting for championships for years. Another problem is that there would not be much of a built-in rivalry to make the game feel personal or dramatic. Instead of spending two weeks talking about a heated rematch or two legendary teams finally meeting for a championship, the conversation could end up being more about how unexpected the matchup is.
And while an unexpected Super Bowl can definitely be fun, there is a difference between surprising and exciting. I could easily imagine people watching this game and wondering whether it would actually be competitive, especially if one team got off to a fast start. A close Super Bowl that comes down to the final drive is what most fans hope for, while a game that becomes a 20-point or 30-point lead by halftime would be incredibly disappointing. The Panthers and Jaguars could eventually become much stronger teams and completely change that perception, but if I were making a list of Super Bowl matchups I want to see, this would definitely be one of the ones near the bottom. I would rather see two teams with more history, bigger storylines, stronger rivalries, or a legitimate chance of giving us a dramatic game instead of potentially watching one team dominate from start to finish.
For my next matchup, I would pick the Cleveland Browns versus the Arizona Cardinals. Honestly, this is a Super Bowl pairing that would be pretty hard for me to get excited about. Neither team immediately brings the kind of championship history or major rivalry that would make the matchup feel like an instant classic, and I could see a lot of fans being more interested in the halftime show and commercials than the actual game.
The biggest issue would be the lack of a compelling storyline between the two teams. A Super Bowl is much more fun when there is a heated rivalry, a rematch, two star quarterbacks going head-to-head, or a team trying to finally win its first championship after years of heartbreak. Browns-Cardinals would not naturally have much of that.
There is also the possibility that the game could become one-sided if one team simply has a much better night, which would make an already unusual matchup even less entertaining. Of course, either team could eventually become a powerhouse and completely change the way people view this matchup, but if I am choosing the Super Bowl I want to watch, this would definitely be near the bottom of my list. I would much rather see two teams with bigger storylines, stronger rivalries, more history against each other, or a fan base that has been waiting forever for that championship moment. A Browns-Cardinals Super Bowl would certainly be unexpected, but unexpected does not automatically mean exciting, and this is one matchup where I would probably be hoping for something else instead.
For the last one, I’d go with the Tennessee Titans versus the Indianapolis Colts. This would be one of those Super Bowl matchups where I would honestly struggle to get excited about the game. Both teams have had their moments, but compared with some of the NFL’s biggest teams and rivalries, Titans-Colts just does not have the same national hype or “must-watch” feeling.
It would also be a strange Super Bowl because these teams are division rivals that already see each other during the regular season, so having them meet on the biggest stage would not feel nearly as fresh as two teams from completely different parts of the league finally meeting for a championship. The matchup could certainly produce a good game, but I could also imagine it turning into a slow, defensive battle without much scoring or excitement.
A Super Bowl should feel like the biggest possible ending to the NFL season, with huge storylines, star players, dramatic moments, and two teams that fans across the country are genuinely interested in watching. Titans-Colts would feel more like an unexpected regular-season rivalry game that somehow ended up in the Super Bowl. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it would not be high on my list of dream matchups. There are so many other teams that could create a much more exciting Super Bowl, whether it is a historic franchise trying to return to glory, two powerhouse teams finally meeting, or an underdog making an incredible playoff run. So if I had to choose one final matchup I would rather avoid, Titans versus Colts would be a pretty easy choice. It would be different, but different does not always mean entertaining.
